Denver Water Audit Training

Rebuilding Together is an organization that works with local volunteers to rehabilitate the homes of low-income seniors and people living with disabilities in the Denver Metro area.  Rebuilding Together Metro Denver has rehabilitated over 800 homes and 9 nonprofit facilities since 1999.

Rebuilding Together is working with Denver Water to provide training for Water Audits and Water Conservation installations.  Volunteers are trained in four specific areas to give them the necessary information to perform water audits including: Denver’s Water System, Water Quality and Lead Infrastructure, Water Conservation, and Criteria for and How to perform a water audit.

Volunteers first visit pre-approved homes to perform the water audit to determine which items to implement.  Depending on the findings, necessary items can be installed such as faucet aerators, low-flow showerheads, and high efficiency toilets, at no cost to the homeowner.

This helps to decrease homeowner’s water use and contribute to Denver’s overall goal of reducing energy and water consumption citywide.

The training session will take place Monday July 12 2010, from 8-10 am at Rebuilding Together Metro Denver.  To register contact mary.brook@rebuildingdenver.org.
