EVstudio participates in “Canstruction” for Hunger Free Colorado

by Matt Svoboda on April 15, 2012

EVstudio was delighted to be one of five design firms to compete in Canstruction Colorado 2012 last week.  Sponsored by 9Cares Colorado Shares and benefiting Hunger Free Colorado this design competition featured 5-person teams building structures entirely out of canned food!  Each team was challenged to design and build a sculpture within an 8-foot imaginary cube that related to this year’s theme “Hungry for Change”, and the best part was that when it was all over the food was donated to local food banks – over 15,000 cans in all.  The build day was Tuesday April 3rd and the “CanDo” gala awards event took place the following night.  All of the competitors’ structures were built at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and remained on display until “De-Canstruction” took place on Monday April 9th.  Below are some pictures of the finished products and links to learn more about 9news’ charitable programs and Hunger Free Colorado.  Look for another post with a more in-depth description of our entry – “Never Stop Giving”.
