Fisher Early Learning Center Update

The work that we designed at Fisher Early Learning Center is wrapping up and I took a few pictures. Fisher ELC is the child care center at the University of Denver. We were hired by the University to design several remodel elements including new kitchens, bathroom modifications, flooring changes, furniture and wash stations for the children. Because the school operates year round, the contractor had to move through doing work one classroom at a time until all 11 were complete.

I’m particularly proud of the detail that Elicia and I came up with for the child hand wash stations. We set an oversized wall mount sink at less than 2′ off the floor and put three single hole faucets into the three holes usually designed for one faucet. We then switched from the University standard towel dispenser to one that kids can use and set the stations up in a very tight space.

Marcee Martin, the Executive Director, emailed me “The staff and parents love the new design for the kitchens, the children love the new sinks, and everyone loves the new flooring.”
