CASTING CALL—Interior Design Disaster!

Homeowners in Denver, New York and LA: Do you have an interior decorating disaster in your home? Did you complete a DIY makeover that should have been a DI-Don’t? Has your design dream turned into a nightmare? Then HGTV is looking for you!

HGTV is NOW CASTING energetic, fun-spirited homeowners in who want to remedy their failed decorating attempts!  Friends and families of homeowners may also apply—if you think your friend/relative needs a decorating intervention, let us know!

Homeowners, AKA the Design Victims:

  • Must have created a hideous room (that can be fixed cosmetically). Horrible color schemes, decorating “themes” gone wrong, “kitschy” becoming tacky—all of these are great! Loud designs welcome!
  • Must have a family member or close friend who is troubled by the hideousness of the room. (Can be the homeowner him/herself.)
  • Must have at least a little sense of humor about the room—willing to take some gentle teasing about it.
  • The room may have been designed and decorated by the homeowner, a friend/relative, or even a hired designer. NOTE: rooms that were decorated by the home’s previous owner will not be considered.

If you think you might be a victim of your own self-inflicted design wounds, apply now!

Our design expert will deconstruct your decorating and help you see where things went wrong. Then, let the fun begin! Our host will bring the room down to the bare bones and help you redecorate it—including furniture, window treatments, finishes and accessories—and this time end up with a room you can be proud of!

Taping begins in mid-June, and we are casting ASAP!

I have an opportunity to buy at a steal price a high end property in St Pete Beach, FL.

PLEASE READ THIS – I have an opportunity to purchase a high end HUGE property in St. Pete Beach, FL for a steal. The property is listed on the Stirling Sotheby’s International website MLS#: U7514126 – look at the pictures! (The roof top area has views of the gulf, intercoastal and Tampa Bay.)

Although it says in the description the property needs everything – that it is just a shell – it’s actually much – much farther than that. I viewed the property and it is -Insulated, all wiring is in but needs electrical boxes (2), It has zoned heat and cooling with all units wired and in place, it has 2 porches – 1 that is complete with railings and 1 that is finished other than railings, a spiral stair case up to a roof top entertaining area (it needs the flooring for live load use and proper drainage. It is ready for cam lights, it is plumbed for 3 bathrooms (master soaking tub is in place) and large shower already has rubberized base, and a huge kitchen, it has an elevator shaft, and beautiful tile roof. All exterior windows and doors are in place. The insulation (some sections with spray, other sheet insulation, and interior walls with roll insulation.) Most drywall is in place and ready for taping.

It has is now a bank owned property for sale – the most expensive project left are the grand entry stair case on the front. This is a huge 3 story – wide open – property that would be an amazing transformation project. My husband and I live in Illinois but both took early retirement and are completely flexible with time. I am very hands on and enthusiastic. We currently own a condo in Florida about 15 to 20 minutes from the property so we could be there daily. I have an independent engineer’s report (from the City of St. Pete Beach) addressing the items needed as well as the telephone number of the architect for the project. The house when completed should sell for around $400,000 to $500,000 (it even has a built in older pool from 1985 that was left from the demolition – other than having green water and probably needing a pump would add to the total transformation. The property iis listed for the land and shell at $124,900! I have $100,000 to $125,000 that I can use to totally finish the house and furnish it.

The house is a REO property (bank owned) as well as a Fannie Mae property. Therefore, the first 7 days of the listing are open for people who will live in the property. The 1st day of the listing was yesterday so I have until Monday to write a contract. PLEASE consider this for your show – if not, could you speak with any of your contacts at other HGTV programs and see if there is they have any interest. We are currently in Florida so you would need to call me on my cell 618 698-0808 be sure to leave a message if I don’t answer – I’ll call you back right away.

Thank you so much for your consideration. My number is 618 698-0808.
