Playhouse Project for Rocky Mountain Communities

by Bill Foster on March 28, 2011

Over the past few months EVstudio has been teaming up with Catamount Constructors to build our first contribution to the Rocky Mountain Communities Playhouse project.  The Playhouse project teams local Colorado designers with Colorado Contractors to build Playhouses that are auctioned off to benefit the RMC’s mission to provide affordable housing for Coloradans.

Our playhouse and 11 others will be on display at the Botanic Gardens beginning April 6th – April 15th.  The gala celebration and auction will then happen on April 16th and we would love to see you there.  Tickets can be purchased at the Botanic Garden’s website. http://catalog.botanicgardens.org/Select.aspx?item=1041&sch=21471

The theme of this year’s Playhouse project was Uniquely Colorado, and during a brainstorming session in Bergen with Catamount constructors PM Scott Boal we hit upon the distinct possibilities that a Mesa Verde cliff dwelling playhouse offered.  A rendering of our final design is shown below and we hope you get a chance to come see it at the Botanic Gardens.

In addition to Catamount and the leadership of EVstudio who have supported our staff in donating their time we would also like to thank TJ’s Wood Products, Breckenridge Building Center, Neketan, Genesis Construction, and Sherwin Williams for their generous donations of time and materials.
