Architecture

Join EVstudio and achieve your career goals!  EVstudio is offering a career opportunity for a Licensed Architect to lead our Production Home architecture team. EVstudio has a long successful history providing structural engineering services for production home builders and would like to expand that service to include architecture.     

Headquartered in Denver, we also have offices in Boise, Idaho and Austin, Texas….and we’re not stopping there! While the majority of our production home projects are in Colorado, we are equipped to design in any state.

The Production Home leader will work closely with the structural team to market and win architecture / drafting services for production home builders.  Services we would like to offer to home builders, which the leader would be responsible to manage, may include drafting in AutoCAD and Revit, developing new house plans and elevations for Clients, managing plan libraries for Clients, creating renderings and 3d models and other architecture related services for production home builders. 

EVstudio is also discussing extending our services for production home builders to include creating marketing materials for builders to use on websites and show rooms, interior design of model homes, material and construction estimates and coordination with contractors for constructability checks.  

The ideal candidate is an experienced designer or architect who:

  • is a visual thinker and can convey design ideas with ease, to our clients and team.
  • has experience with Business Development and can bring in new clients to build on the backlog.
  • is well established in the Colorado production home market.
  • understands the scope requirements for production home projects.
  • understands budgets, timelines and local jurisdiction requirements.
  • is experienced at managing all phases of multiple production home projects and working with multiple home builders, various trades and contractors.
  • has experience managing a team of 2-6 people.
  • can demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, communication, and people skills.
  • has experience providing technical review (QA/QC) for production home projects.
  • enjoys mentoring less experienced staff.
  • is willing to travel to meet with national home builders.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Professional degree in Architecture or related experience with production home builders
  • Licensure is desired but not required
  • Minimum 8 years of experience
  • Revit and AutoCAD Proficiency required
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to work in a team environment

 

Compensation:

A compensation range between $90,000 and $115,000 will be offered, based on experience.

Structural

We are looking for a structural engineer focused on building design who will fit into our flexible, collaborative environment and grow professionally. This is a great opportunity for the right individual to learn from seasoned professional engineers.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated engineer who is:

  • Interested in designing light frame wood structures or commercial buildings
  • Experienced with Revit and Structural Modeling Software
  • Experienced in some client management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structures from an accredited program is required
  • Experience with Revit is required
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Familiar with common structural analysis software
  • Familiar with International and Residential Building Codes
  • Extensive design experience with wood, concrete, steel, and masonry – experience with post-tensioned concrete a plus
  • Passionate about the art of engineering and self-motivated
  • Ability to work in a team approach environment
  • Willing to adapt to different project types and tasks on a daily basis
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
  • Previously passed the Professional Engineering examination is a plus
  • Able to perform physical field work, including climbing ladders, performing visual observations from afar/rooftops/scaffolding/confined spaces, using precision instruments, etc.

Experience: 3-4+ years

Licensure and CertificationProfessional Engineer (If the candidate has 4+ years experience)

Salary: $65,000 to $85,000 Annually

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to stand, walk, sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel objects and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work is generally performed within an office environment where the noise level is usually quiet to moderate. When work is performed outdoors on construction sites, conditions may vary by client and facility. Adherence to all health and safety requirements within the office, on construction sites is essential.
