Hughes Fire Equipment is a 15,400 square-foot facility for fire truck certification, located in Meridian, Idaho. The building includes a 2,600-square-foot office space at the front, providing administrative and support functions. A 12,800-square-foot shop area accommodates fire truck parking and equipment, including a steam cleaner room and a pump test room to support certification processes.
This building uses two types of construction methods. Stick framing is used for the office area and features rough-sawn lumber trusses and framing at the covered entry roof. The shop side uses a pre-engineered metal building (PEMB). The use of PEMB allows the building to meet the needed height and spans required for housing fire trucks.
