EVstudio Partnered with Fading West to develop multi-family work force housing using modular construction. The project is the second phase to the Sawtooth Development, with Phase I being a series of Duplexes and ADUs that developed some land west of the County Fairgrounds at the intersection of Evans and 14th.
The project utilized modular construction to build a 3-story structure with 32 units. The structure is designed to utilize an innovative Geothermal Heat Pump system that required a site built mechanical room to house the equipment. The exterior is clad in a fiber cement panelized siding and corrugated metal siding that provides fire resistance to the structure and includes unique exterior shades that wrap around the corner of the structure and are shaded on the North and South sides over the entry doors but then become open on the west side. The shades also utilize angled columns to create a dynamic exterior.
