Larry Gilland

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Larry Gilland brings over four decades of experience and innovation to every project he designs, ranging from private custom homes to commercial and community-focused developments. A respected leader within the design community, Larry has been a consistent and trusted presence for more than 40 years among architects and designers serving top local and national production and custom home builders, as well as private clients.

In 1982, Larry founded his own architectural design practice—now known as LGA Studios, a specialized design studio within EVstudio—through which he has created homes both large and small throughout Colorado Springs, including numerous projects within The Broadmoor Resort and Kissing Camels communities. Beyond the Pikes Peak Region, Larry’s innovative designs can be found across Summit County and Beaver Creek in Colorado, as well as in Santa Fe, New Mexico; Scottsdale, Arizona; and internationally in Nigeria, where he collaborated with Engineering Ministries International on the design of a hospital clinic.

Smart, sustainable design is a cornerstone of Larry’s work. He is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional and a former Steering Committee Chair of the U.S. Green Building Council. Larry continues to seek new professional challenges, having co-founded Rocky Mountain Plan Company and Collaborative Design Group, and recently serving as an adjunct professor at Pikes Peak State College. A Colorado Springs native, Larry remains deeply committed to the growth and beauty of his community and has served as a long-time member of the National Association of Home Builders, the Construction Specifications Institute, and numerous related professional organizations, including participation on the local Habitat for Humanity Building Committee.

Larry believes strongly in collaboration and creativity and is passionate about guiding clients through the design process to transform ideas into thoughtfully crafted, buildable realities. He embraces complex challenges and is continually seeking new knowledge, tools, and approaches to design excellence.

PERSONAL

When he is not at his computer or on site, Larry enjoys golfing, biking, skiing, traveling, and watercolor painting. A lifelong Colorado Springs resident, he brings both a local perspective and a broad design worldview to every project he undertakes.
