PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
Nawal Obaid joined EVstudio as a Structural Designer, bringing a unique combination of technical drafting experience, geotechnical engineering knowledge, and an ongoing pursuit of structural engineering education. She earned her degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 2022 and is currently working toward a second degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Colorado Denver, further strengthening her technical foundation in structural design and engineering.
Prior to joining EVstudio, Nawal spent approximately two years working as a Geotechnical Staff Engineer, where she gained valuable experience evaluating subsurface conditions, supporting foundation recommendations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams. In addition, she has accumulated more than five years of AutoCAD experience, developing detailed technical drawings and construction documentation while refining the precision and problem-solving skills that are essential to successful structural projects.
At EVstudio, Nawal works alongside the Structural team to support a variety of residential and commercial projects. She is passionate about expanding her knowledge of structural engineering and enjoys the collaborative, multidisciplinary approach that allows architects and engineers to work together to create efficient, practical, and innovative design solutions. She is committed to continuous learning and looks forward to growing her expertise while contributing to projects that positively impact the communities they serve.
PERSONAL:
Outside of the office, Nawal enjoys cooking and experimenting with new recipes in her spare time. She has always enjoyed learning new skills and challenging herself, a mindset that led her to pursue a second engineering degree while advancing her professional career. Although she once dreamed of becoming a teacher, her passion for engineering ultimately led her toward the design and construction industry. If she had to choose just one meal for the rest of her life, it would be cheese pizza.
