During the construction administration process, we perform framing and steel connection observations in conjunction with county inspectors to observe what is built has followed the construction documents or to verify that any changes or variations to the plans are acceptable. Now, it should be pointed out that any field changes are expected to be brought to our attention prior to the change so that we can approve or provide alternative solutions that will meet the given structural requirements.
The above photos were captured at a residential addition project of two steel beam connections. They each represent common connection types, one is a factory welded plate and bolt connection and the other a field welded angle plate connection.
