National Administrative Professionals Day – A Day in the Life of an Admin at EVstudio.
When people think of the AEC industry, they often picture architects sketching plans, engineers crunching numbers, and designers bringing visions to life. What they don’t always see is the whirlwind behind the scenes. The logistics, coordination, and daily hustle that keep everything running. That’s where I come in.
As an Administrative Assistant at EVstudio, my days are never quite the same. From managing the front desk to organizing industry events, posting to our social media channels, and keeping up with licensing logistics. There’s always something happening. Whether it’s welcoming a client, troubleshooting a marketing deadline, or making sure snacks are stocked (yes, the essentials!), I wear many hats, and I wear them proudly.
And while I’m not the one designing buildings or analyzing structures, I am helping create the foundation that supports those things. I make sure meetings are scheduled, food shows up for Lunch & Learns, licensing is submitted on time, and people know where to go and when. I handle the office heartbeat, making sure communication flows and details don’t get lost in the shuffle.
There’s a unique kind of creativity and problem-solving in being an admin. You’re juggling ten things at once, anticipating needs before they come up, and often serving as the go-to person. Some days are chaos (the fun kind), and some are smooth—but all of them matter.
So today, on National Administrative Professionals Day, I want to give a shoutout to every admin out there keeping things together behind the curtain. In this industry—and many others—our work might not make the blueprints, but it absolutely makes the vision possible.
