Celebrating Women in Affordable Housing
EVstudio was thrilled to attend the 2025 Women’s Affordable Housing Network (WAHN) Summit in Denver this May! Representing EVstudio was Roxanne Jacobson, who joined powerful women from across the country for three days of inspiration, connection, and advocacy in affordable housing.
A Weekend of Inspiration and Impact
From expert-led panels to networking with industry change makers, the summit highlighted how women are leading the charge in shaping more equitable, accessible communities. This year’s WAHN Summit included awesome sessions full of education on the financing and completion of Affordable Housing projects. Also, experts shared their experiences in the industry – the good, the bad, and the ugly, along with positive life coaching sessions! Learning more about the LIHTC process and how affordable housing projects get funded is an extremely important piece of this entire puzzle. It takes a village to complete these amazing projects – whether you’re the accountant, the developer, the architect, or the property management company – every piece is needed.
A Personal Highlight from Roxanne
- Her favorite session: was with Christine Hockman – “She was amazing and I want her to be my best friend so she could call me every morning and motivate me to be my best self everyday!”
- Her favorite take-away: “if you don’t measure, you don’t manage.” Ms. Hockman is a leadership and life coach. “Gosh, she sure made me feel like I don’t actually have to do it ALL everyday. As women we take on too much, we just do, it’s in our nature. If we don’t have boundaries and balance, it quickly leads to being burn-out. We should all remember that in our daily lives!”
- Lastly, “I got to participate in a conga line made up entirely of women in affordable housing… How cool is that?” Roxanne shared. “It was an incredible opportunity to learn, be inspired, and celebrate the work women are doing in this space.”
EVstudio’s Continued Commitment
This summit reinforced something we know to be true at EVstudio—representation matters. We’re proud to support organizations like WAHN that lift up voices, drive meaningful change, and push for housing solutions that work for everyone. “Being around hundreds of insanely powerful, inspirational, women leaders in our industry was certainly the highlight of the conference for me!” said Roxanne.
Looking Ahead
Stay tuned as we continue championing affordable housing through our modular, multifamily, and community-focused design work.
