Denver Metro Area Jurisdictions Converting to 2009 International Codes

Jefferson County is one of the jurisdictions within the state the of Colorado with plans to adopt the 2009 versions of the International Codes including the International Residential Code (IRC) and the International Building Code (IBC) in 2010. According to Tim Pate, Co-Chair of the Code Change Committee of the Colorado Chapter of the International Code Council (CCICC) and Senior Plans Analyst for the City and County of Broomfield, many of the metro area jurisdictions will be adopting the 2009 code during the first half of 2010. In addition to Jefferson County, the City and County of Denver will be making the switch during the first quarter of 2010 and both Boulder and Arapahoe Counties will be making the switch in spring of 2010. Many other jurisdictions in the metro area are currently looking into the code and intend to adopt it sometime in 2010. The adoption of the new codes in Jefferson County will take effect on January 1, 2010.

Tim Pate has graciously agreed to provide a training session on the changes in the new code for the EV University (EVU) Session for this month, helping to keep EV Studio well informed and ready for the upcoming changes! Thank you Tim!
