Breaking Ground on a Sustainable Future in Denver
We’re excited to share a major milestone in our mission to build a greener, smarter Denver. Urban Green Development has officially broken ground at 1643 Boulder Street in the vibrant heart of LoHi. This project reflects the Owner’s deep commitment to sustainability and innovative urban living.
From the Beginning
Since 2021, EVstudio has worked alongside a talented design team on structural and MEP engineering services. We’ve partnered closely with Neo Studio, whose award-winning architects have shaped the project’s identity. Their visionary design has been instrumental in shaping the project’s evolution into what promises to be a truly exceptional addition to the neighborhood.
Nestled into Boulder Street, the development will feature three stories of thoughtfully designed residential units situated above ground-level retail and on-site parking. The site’s unique sloping topography towards the rear has presented some intriguing engineering challenges, particularly regarding foundation design and managing drainage from the adjacent City Park. Furthermore, the zero lot line condition has spurred creative solutions to meet various building code requirements.
Initially conceived as a medium-stay hotel with the adaptability for longer-term residents, the project has evolved to offer flexible ownership options, including the possibility of for-sale units. We know the prime LoHi location, coupled with attractive amenities like a rooftop lounge and Urban Green Development’s unwavering commitment to sustainability, will make these residences highly sought after.
Digging Deeper
Adding another layer of distinction, this project is poised to be a leader in wellness-focused design. While initially designed for LEED and WELL V2 certification, we are excited to announce our pursuit of the newly developed WELL for Residential certification, making this one of the first projects to pursue this rating. The building will be fully electric, utilizing energy-efficient heat pump systems with energy recovery ventilation for optimal heating and cooling. In line with LEED’s mission, the building envelope will boast stringent energy and water savings measures, and sustainable building materials will be used throughout construction. The WELL certification takes this commitment a step further, prioritizing the health and well-being of future residents and promising an exceptional quality of life.
Stay tuned for more updates as we bring this exciting vision to life! We’re eager to share our progress and look forward to welcoming residents to this innovative and sustainable community in the near future.
