EVstudio recently had the incredible opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause—partnering with Flatirons Habitat for Humanity to help build affordable modular homes for families in need. Our volunteer team joined one of the final workdays before a completed unit left the factory, making the experience even more meaningful.
A Hands-On Commitment to Community
At EVstudio, we believe that great design is only the beginning. We’re committed to building stronger, more inclusive communities, and this project was a powerful example of that mission in action.
Our volunteer crew—Ignacio, Katelyn, Chantz, and Alex—rolled up their sleeves and got to work. The team helped with cleaning, painting, and final construction touches, ensuring the modular unit was ready to be shipped out the following day.
The energy on-site was a excitement. It was a mix of new volunteers, high school education students, and returning volunteer. Everyone knew their efforts were going directly toward providing safe, stable housing for a local family. That sense of purpose drove each brushstroke and every hammer swing.
The Power of Modular Construction
Flatirons Habitat for Humanity has embraced modular construction as a way to speed up home delivery while maintaining high quality. The modular units are built in a controlled environment, allowing for greater precision and fewer weather-related delays. Once complete, they are transported and installed on permanent foundations.
Modular construction plays a major role in making affordable housing more accessible, especially in high-cost areas like Boulder County. By reducing construction time and waste, Habitat can house more families, faster.

A Home Close to Completion
The timing of EVstudio’s volunteer day made it particularly memorable. Our team worked on the very last day before the home was moved from the factory. We were one of the final crews to contribute hands-on labor to a structure that would soon become a life-changing home for a local family.
Knowing that our work helped bring a home closer to move-in ready made the experience even more rewarding. The day was filled with team spirit, laughter, and a deep sense of gratitude.
Building More Than Homes
Volunteering with Flatirons Habitat gave our team more than just a chance to contribute physically—it offered us perspective. It reminded us why we do what we do. We design spaces not just for beauty and function, but to improve lives.
Opportunities like these allow EVstudio to connect directly with the communities we serve. They also reinforce the importance of equitable, sustainable housing—values that drive both our projects and our people.
