Pinon Park: Delivering Affordable, Modular Single-Family Homes in Norwood, Colorado
Meeting a Critical Housing Need in Rural Colorado
Pinon Park is a transformative single-family affordable housing development in Norwood, Colorado, completed in partnership with Rural Homes, built by Stryker Homes, with modular units from Fading West. Norwood is known for its close-knit community and stunning natural surroundings. However, like many rural and mountain towns across Colorado, it has continued to face a growing shortage of attainable housing. As a result, essential workers—including teachers, healthcare professionals, first responders, and local business employees—have struggled to live close to where they work.
Because of this challenge, Pinon Park was envisioned as more than just a housing project. Instead, it represents a long-term investment in Norwood’s workforce, its families, and the future of the community overall.
Thoughtful Design for Comfort, Durability, and Community
The development features 26 single-family homes, each approximately 1,200 square feet. From the beginning, EVstudio’s architectural team prioritized open, functional layouts that maximize natural light and create a welcoming living environment. In addition, design elements were carefully selected to harmonize with Norwood’s natural beauty, blending modern comfort with a respect for the surrounding landscape.
Moreover, durability played a leading role in every design decision. The homes incorporate low-maintenance exterior materials chosen to withstand Colorado’s intense sun, winter storms, and dramatic temperature swings. Similarly, the structural systems were engineered to meet local environmental needs, ensuring long-term performance and resilience.
Furthermore, our MEP team developed efficient mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems that support energy-conscious living. These systems not only enhance comfort but also help reduce utility costs—an essential component of true affordability.
Efficient Modular Construction
Pinon Park utilizes offsite modular construction, which significantly streamlined the delivery process. Consequently, the project moved from design to completion quickly and with high quality control.
