Throughout this past year, our team closely monitored an exciting new construction project in Eagle County. This initiative specifically addresses the growing need for local affordable housing. Consequently, we watched with great interest as the site at Freedom Park transformed month by month. This prime location offers residents immediate access to a popular dog park. Furthermore, the development sits directly across from the Mountain Recreation Edwards Field House. Because of this central placement, the project perfectly blends convenience with community recreation.
Smart Design for Modern Living
The development features 20 thoughtfully designed residential units in total. To begin with, the layout includes 16 cozy one-bedroom options. Each of these units provides five hundred square feet of efficient living space. In addition to these, the project offers four spacious two-bedroom units. These larger homes span one thousand square feet each with two story living conditions. Moreover, every unit boasts a large, covered exterior deck. These decks allow residents to enjoy the fresh mountain air regardless of the weather. Therefore, the outdoor living space serves as a major selling point for the community.
Innovative Storage and Parking Solutions
Beyond the living quarters, the architects prioritized functional storage for mountain life. For example, the four two-bedroom units sit directly over private garages. This design ensures that residents have secure parking and extra space. Similarly, the one-bedroom units feature dedicated storage rooms located beneath each home. Because of these features, tenants can easily store bikes, skis, and outdoor gear. Such details prove that affordable housing can also be highly functional. As a result, these units cater perfectly to the active lifestyle of Eagle County residents.
EVstudio is proud to have been a part of this project in partnership with Mendez Architects that designed the new Government Services Building that this Housing develop Surrounds. We Partnered with Fading West to provide the modular residential units for the housing development.
