Project Spotlight: The Midland Apartments

The Midland Apartments in Buena Vista, Colorado

Welcome to The Midland Apartments in Buena Vista, Colorado. This project, developed by Fading West Development and the Town of Buena Vista, promises to redefine community living.

Project Highlights

The Midland Apartments feature 60 units and an adjacent childcare facility. Residents will enjoy a prime location within walking distance to Main Street, the South Main Neighborhood, local schools, and the Arkansas River. As a result, the development offers convenient access to local businesses, essential services, and recreational activities.

Key Features

The Midland is an income-restricted community, ensuring long-term affordability. It will address pressing housing needs with units featuring unit-controlled heating and cooling, in-unit washer and dryer, quartz countertops, Energy Star-rated stainless steel appliances, high-speed fiber internet, and balconies for one and two-bedroom units. Additionally, amenities include indoor bike storage and a landscaped courtyard with community grills and seating areas.

Affordability and Management

To ensure long-term affordability for Chaffee County residents, all units will have income caps based on the area median income (AMI). As a result, half the units are restricted to 80% AMI, and no unit will exceed 120% AMI. The Chaffee Housing Authority will manage the units, providing additional information on eligibility and restrictions.

Innovative Construction

This project uses modular construction, incorporating innovative design solutions for building plans, building envelopes, mechanical systems, and other engineering systems. Fading West Building Systems manufactured the modules, and Fading West Construction managed the construction, with Architectural and Engineering design by EVstudio.

The Midland Apartments represent a significant step forward in addressing community needs while offering residents a high-quality, affordable living environment. We are thrilled to be a part of such an important community driven project!
