Residential Building Permits in 2012 Seeing Uptrend in Denver Metro

Colorado has not seen the depths of the housing crash like some areas of the country. In turn, the rebound of residential growth, in the Denver metro area, has experienced favorable results for over 11 months now, according to a recent HBA (Home Builders Association of Metro Denver) report, publicized by Inside Real Estate News in their article, Home permits soar.

The article reports that for February 2012, home building permits have increased 57 percent compared to February 2011. In addition, permits issued for apartment units has increased an amazing 1,354 percent, again, comparing last February to this February.

One other interesting and favorable aspect to this rebound is seeing a greater demand for builders using green and sustainable techniques and materials – and at all levels of home prices, the article reports.

So while we are not out of the woods yet, seeing remarkable increases in issued building permits as well as green and sustainable practices is very encouraging. Click Home permits soar to read the article.
