Structural Engineers and BIM

I was reading an interesting poll on gostructural.com about how many structural engineers use BIM on their projects.

One poll asked engineers to consider their last three projects and of those which used BIM

The results were:

All three projects used BIM: 18%

Two of Three: 9%

One of Three: 12%

None: 61%

I was amazed at how few of the engineers used BIM.  At EVstudio we used Revit, AutoCAD ACA with Blackpoint and Sapphire all are forms of BIM and true 3D models.  We use Revit for most of our in house projects and use AutoCAD ACA with blackpoint and Sapphire for one of our production home builders.  However, we are looking to advance the use of Sapphire for more wood structures.
