One of our favorite contractors sent me an email with some interesting facts from the United States Census Bureau for the year 2007.
A new, single family production home built in the western United States takes about 7.3 months to build. A contractor built custom home takes about 10.4 months to build. An owner built home takes about 11 months. These time frames for the western U.S. are all quite a bit longer than the overall averages for the United States. We have more challenging building conditions here than they do in say…Florida, or Texas.
