Weiser School District Partners with EVstudio

Investing in the Future: Weiser School District Partners with EVstudio for Long-Term Improvements

The Weiser School District in Weiser, Idaho, has taken a bold step toward revitalizing its educational facilities. Through a strategic partnership with EVstudio, the district is executing a 10-year plan to upgrade and maintain its aging buildings. For the summer of 2025, four major projects marked the beginning of this long-term collaboration.

A Strategic Partnership for Sustainable Growth

EVstudio was selected to provide on-call architecture and engineering services for the district’s decade-long improvement strategy. Their role includes design, bidding support, and construction oversight to ensure high-quality delivery. The 2025 summer’s work focused on critical infrastructure upgrades across multiple school facilities.

Summer 2025 Projects: Tackling Urgent Needs

EVstudio led the design and engineering efforts for four major upgrades:

Weiser High School Roof Replacement

Originally built in the early 1960s and last re-roofed in the 1990s, the high school’s roof was due for a complete overhaul. EVstudio worked closely with Upson Company, the chosen contractor, to address structural and ventilation issues discovered during demolition.

Navigating Challenges in Aging Infrastructure

Working with older buildings often reveals unexpected complications. The high school roof had a second layer added with 30-inch deep trusses on top of the existing roof structure, but no existing documentation was available on this change. During demolition, EVstudio discovered poor ventilation and structural damage. They quickly developed cost-effective solutions with contractors to restore integrity and airflow.

In another section of the high school roof, hidden water damage was uncovered. EVstudio’s structural engineers conducted additional site visits to assess the damage and recommend mitigation strategies. Their proactive approach ensured the safety and longevity of the repairs.

Collaboration and Community Impact

These projects demonstrate the power of collaboration between architects, engineers, and contractors. EVstudio’s hands-on involvement from design through construction helped maintain project quality and timelines. The upgrades not only improve safety and functionality but also reflect the district’s commitment to providing a better learning environment.

Looking Ahead

With these initial projects nearing completion, the Weiser School District is well-positioned to continue its strategic improvements. EVstudio’s ongoing support will be crucial as the district tackles future upgrades. This partnership sets a strong foundation for sustainable growth and educational excellence.
