Welcoming Larry Gilland and LGA Studio to EVstudio

EVstudio is proud to welcome Larry Gilland and LGA Studio as the newest studio within the EVstudio family. With more than 40 years of experience in residential, commercial, and community-focused design, Larry brings a legacy of thoughtful architecture, sustainability leadership, and deep regional roots that align seamlessly with EVstudio’s multidisciplinary approach.
Founded in 1982, Larry’s architectural design practice—now operating as LGA Studio at EVstudio—has shaped homes and communities across Colorado and beyond. For decades, the studio was known as LGA Studios, and today continues that legacy under the EVstudio umbrella, strengthening the firm’s design-forward residential capabilities.
A Legacy of Design Excellence
Throughout his career, Larry has collaborated with top local and national builders, private clients, and community organizations, delivering projects ranging from intimate custom homes to complex commercial and civic developments. His portfolio includes numerous residences within Colorado Springs’ iconic Broadmoor Resort and Kissing Camels communities, as well as projects across Summit County and Beaver Creek. Larry’s work also extends beyond Colorado, with projects in Santa Fe, Scottsdale, and internationally in Nigeria, where he partnered with Engineering Ministries International on the design of a hospital clinic.
This depth and breadth of experience allow Larry to approach each project with a holistic perspective—balancing architectural vision with constructability, cost efficiency, and long-term performance.
Commitment to Sustainable and Smart Design
Sustainability has long been a cornerstone of Larry’s work. A LEED Accredited Professional and former Steering Committee Chair of the U.S. Green Building Council, Larry has consistently advocated for smart, energy-efficient, and environmentally responsible design. His leadership in green building initiatives reflects a philosophy shared across EVstudio: that thoughtful design should positively impact both people and place.
Larry’s dedication to collaboration and professional growth has also led him to co-found Rocky Mountain Plan Company and Collaborative Design Group, and to share his knowledge as an adjunct professor at Pikes Peak Community College.
Community Leadership and Industry Involvement
A Colorado Springs native, Larry has remained deeply involved in his community throughout his career. His service includes leadership roles with the National Association of Home Builders, the Construction Specifications Institute, and the American Institute of Building Design, as well as serving as a former El Paso County Planning Commissioner. He has also contributed to local housing initiatives through his involvement on the Habitat for Humanity Building Committee.
Strengthening EVstudio Through LGA Studio
The addition of LGA Studio at EVstudio further expands EVstudio’s residential design expertise, complementing existing specialized studios—such as EVolution Studio—while reinforcing the firm’s integrated architecture and engineering approach. Larry’s collaborative mindset, technical expertise, and client-focused philosophy embody the values that define EVstudio.
Outside of work, Larry enjoys golfing, biking, skiing, traveling, and watercolor painting—creative pursuits that reflect the curiosity and craftsmanship he brings to every project.
We are excited to welcome Larry Gilland and LGA Studio to EVstudio and look forward to the continued impact of his experience, leadership, and design vision across our teams and projects.
