Blue Spruce Habitat For Humanity Selects EVstudio as Architect to Design the Next Home

by Sean O'Hara on October 25, 2008

I met will Phil Miller, the Operations Director for Blue Spruce Habitat for Humanity, on Tuesday. We toured the site for their next project (pictured above) and discuss what they wanted to do differently from their last project. They wanted to switch architects and decided that EVstudio was the right choice.

The project is a duplex with one side containing 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms and the other side containing 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. It is in Kittredge, Colorado and the 2nd of 7 lots that Blue Spruce has on the street. We’re donating a portion of our fee to show our support for their efforts and affordable housing options in the Evergreen area.

I designed an earlier duplex for Blue Spruce Habitat on a different section of South End Road when I worked for Odell Architects. This duplex is positioned with one unit over the other one and the entries on opposite corners and streets. Pictured below…
