This is the third custom home to be built and designed by EVstudio in Elk Meadow Estates in Evergreen, Colorado.
This moderately sized home of about 3,000 finished square feet is on a gently sloping lot affording a walk-out basement condition and good views in a quiet neighborhood minutes from downtown Evergreen. As part of the the owner’s desire for a sustainable and energy efficient design approach, they opted for a solar hot water system, radiant heated floors, high efficiency mechanical equipment, several solar tubes to offset the use of artificial lighting in spaces without windows, a combination low-e and double low-e window scheme for passive solar, and a flash and fiber insulation system for a tightly sealed as well as well insulated thermal envelope.
