Things Got Spicy at EVstudio’s Annual Chili Cookoff!
Things were heating up at EVstudio’s Denver office, and not because of a project deadline! Our annual Chili Cookoff returned for another year of delicious recipes, friendly competition, and plenty of laughs. With Halloween just around the corner, our team added another ingredient to the festivities: costumes!
From classic red chili to flavorful green and creamy white varieties, our employees brought their best recipes to the table. The result? A fun-filled afternoon that reminded us why our team makes EVstudio such a great place to work.
A Little Competition, A Lot of Chili
The EVstudio Chili Cookoff has become a favorite annual tradition at our Denver office. It’s an opportunity to step away from our desks, enjoy some homemade food, and connect with coworkers outside of our everyday projects.
This year, employees brought an impressive variety of homemade chilis, each with its own unique flavor and personality. Some kept things traditional, while others brought creative twists and plenty of heat!
Everyone had the opportunity to sample the entries before casting their votes across several categories. Choosing favorites wasn’t easy, but that’s part of the fun!
And the Chili Cookoff Winners Are…
After plenty of tasting and voting, the results were in! Congratulations to this year’s Chili Cookoff champions:
- Spiciest Chili: Gwyn Johnston
- Best Presentation & Best White Chili: Rob Plekenpol
- Best Green Chili: Justin Repath
- Best Red Chili: Dean Dalvit
- Best Flavor Overall: Alex Knuth
A special shoutout goes to Rob Plekenpol for taking home two awards! From standout flavors to creative presentation, each winning entry brought something special to the competition.
Of course, the real winners were everyone who got to enjoy a delicious lunch and a little friendly competition!
Halloween Costumes Add to the Fun
As if a Chili Cookoff wasn’t enough excitement, this year’s event took place on October 30, just one day before Halloween!
Our Denver team embraced the holiday spirit by showing up in Halloween costumes. The combination of creative outfits, homemade chili, and coworkers gathered around the tasting table made for a memorable afternoon.
Between sampling recipes, comparing favorites, and admiring costumes, there was no shortage of conversation and laughter.
