EVstudio works on a wide variety of projects and over the last several years, the desire to expand door openings in several of our project types have led to some very expensive products. One of the companies we keep in close contact with for residential products is BMC. I recently receive a new product announcement from Brad Biddlestone, one of their door and window experts.
The product is from WinDor and it is a hybrid vinyl folding door. WinDor manufacturers a high quality bifold door system that integrates aluminum with vinyl to obtain an innovative hybrid product. This unique fabrication allows for doors up to 9 feet tall, and literally any width with endless combinations of panel configurations. Couple this with the ability to offer a painted exterior finish, interior finish or split finish with a high tech Royal Bond Spectra Coat™ adhesion with time tested durability for a unique custom product offering. This product fits in well with the Andersen 100 Series or Vinyl type project.
The best part is that unlike other folding doors, the cost is much more affordable:
Approximately $665.00 a linear foot for a standard size width and standard size height of 95 ½” with a painted exterior color and the standard white interior, includes an operable man door.
Approximately $550.00 a linear foot for a standard size width and standard size height of 95 ½” with a standard white exterior color and the standard white interior, includes an operable man door.
Don’t forget however that these are approximate costs for the doors and does not include installation or the structure required in the wall for the large header spans. Whether you’re planning on a renovation or new construction, talk to our design team and we can help you with all of the planning and engineering you will need to permit and build your project.
