We had the kick-off for the Holly Park Community Center construction phase in Commerce City today. The client is Mercy Housing Colorado and the contractor is Casson Duncan.
The Holly Park Community Center is a new building that will function as the leasing offices and community room for an existing affordable housing complex. It will provide areas for the meetings, computer classes, after-school programs and resident services that are currently being run out of a converted three-bedroom apartment.
We believed that the project was critical enough for the residents, many of whom are refugees, that we donated the initial design phase to Mercy. With the design that we created they were able to raise the money for the construction. There will also be a new playground donated by Kaboom!, Home Depot and the NFL.
