Recently I did a field observation for the footing for a custom home in Genesee, Colorado. The first thing you notice as you walk over the stored pile of dirt to get to the project is the amazing views you have of the valley below, and the neighboring mountains on the horizon.
The second thing you notice is the large steps that the foundation had to make in order to allow for the placement of this beautifully designed house to fit on the side of this mountain. EVstudio’s own Bill Myhren did a great job with the architecture as well as the structural engineering. As you can see below the steps that the excavator had to do required quite the engineering challenges for bottom of wall heights and step locations. I look forward to see how the rest of the house will nestle its self perfectly into the beautiful Genesee mountain side.
