This premier competition brings together MBA students and industry professionals. Students from the University of Colorado and University of Denver will compete. They will present development proposals to over 700 real estate professionals.
A Real-World Development Challenge
This year’s project focuses on Ladera, a 240-acre master-planned community. The site sits in Timnath, Colorado. Specifically, teams will design a 14.55-acre waterfront parcel.
The parcel overlooks a planned 30-acre reservoir. Therefore, it offers a unique opportunity for placemaking. Students must transform a former asphalt plant and gravel pit. Consequently, they must envision a vibrant, mixed-use waterfront district.
Connell LLC will guide the long-term transformation. Their vision emphasizes community, connection, and sustainability. As a result, the project will include spaces to live, work, and gather.
EVstudio’s Role and Impact
EVstudio’s inter-studio design teams collaborated closely with the University of Denver throughout the project, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and real-world insight at every stage. The mixed-use development included commercial, retail, restaurant, and multi-family components, and we brought together experts from across the firm to deliver comprehensive support.
As part of this student development competition, EVstudio helped bring the team’s vision to life. We supported project logistics to ensure feasibility and translated their ideas into clear, compelling graphics.
