A Modern Mixed-Use Space Designed for Community & Sustainability
The Accent LoHi Development is officially framed and taking shape! This thoughtfully designed building features a post-tensioned (PT) concrete podium at the base level, supporting two stories of wood-framed residential units above a future restaurant and parking space. With an emphasis on natural light, open layouts, and maximizing scenic views, this project is designed to feel like an organic addition to the neighborhood.
Innovative Water Management: A Unique Design Challenge
One of the project’s most complex and innovative features was the need to maintain the site’s natural water flow path. Instead of redirecting stormwater, the design ensures that during heavy rain events, water flows naturally across the site—entering on the west side of the garage, moving beneath the restaurant space, and exiting on the east side. This less common engineering solution presented a unique challenge for EVstudio, as it was our first time handling this type of water management system in a mixed-use development. However, the result is a highly effective stormwater mitigation strategy that enhances both the functionality and longevity of the site.
