Max Stiles began his career in the tech business out of California. He moved to Colorado to start a new business venture in 2021 with aspirations and the entrepreneurial spirit to start a speculative home building business. Recently, Max contacted EVstudio’s Custom Housing Studio to provide our multi-discipline team’s design services including architecture, structural and civil engineering. He and his team have been working with us since the fall of 2021.
Out of the gate working with Max, there was excitement at the prospect over this new venture. We partnered on their first project located on Conifer Mountain, Conifer CO. The project, at 9,130 feet in elevation, entailed a set of challenges not for the faint of heart. It was a challenging and steep site. Nevertheless, construction took an impressive 12 months, sold and the new owners love their home.
The Start of Our Relationship
With a substantially completed new construction project under his belt, Max founded Stiles Development and sought his real estate license. He partnered with the Colorado Foothills Team of Berkshire Hathaway to sharpen his focus toward developing real estate and building high end custom homes. He hired EVstudio on his next home located in Evergreen/Golden. While this project presented some initial zoning challenges, the home site provided for a very manageable design. As part of an HOA, it blends very well with the established neighborhood. Again, a persevering attitude proved to provide another successful project with construction completed in about 10 months’ time.
Current Work
As of this writing, EVstudio and Stiles Development are partnered on a 79-acre parcel in Evergreen/Kittredge for about 30 lots of single family and duplex development, as well as a three tract development in Conifer with his third home currently under construction. The fourth is in permitting and we will soon be in the design on his fifth spec home. Another of Max’s passions, along with EVstudio’s custom home projects, is environmentally conscious and sustainable design. These fourth and fifth homes will be certified under the Net Zero Energy Ready Home program.
In a relatively short period of time Stiles Development is becoming a prominent player in the Colorado Mountain Community of Real Estate Developers. We’re glad to be working with Max and Stiles Development and look forward to continuing a great relationship and even greater success!
