The Denver Architectural Foundation and the Cleworth Architectural Legacy (CAL) Program

At the November AIA Denver Board meeting we listened to a presentation from the Denver Architectural Foundation on their CAL Program. CAL is a nationally recognized, award winning educational program that began in 200 and has spread to over 40 Denver Public Schools and over 5,600 students have participated. The CAL program has taught more than 78 classroom teachers how to better educate their students about the built environment through a hands on program.

The DAF was looking for additional funding and we voted to award them the Curt Dale Community Grant for $5,000 to help fund their efforts. Each year design professionals give them more than 500 hours of time. They can always use more support in time and sponsorship.
