Celebrating progress on a transformational space for children and families in Longmont

The TLC Early Learning Collaborative is rapidly taking shape in Longmont, Colorado, and it’s been inspiring to see this meaningful community project move toward its final finishes. This new facility, a collaborative effort between TLC Learning Center, EVstudio, and Golden Triangle Construction (GTC), brings to life a thoughtfully designed environment for early childhood education, inclusive therapy, community engagement, and family support that will serve generations to come. A Vision for Inclusive Early Learning
TLC has long been a leader in inclusive early childhood education and pediatric therapy, serving infants through preschoolers in programs that support neurotypical and neurodivergent learners alike. The new Early Learning Collaborative embodies this mission with a 33,000+ square-foot facility that thoughtfully integrates classrooms, therapy areas, movement spaces, community training rooms, and more — all under one roof.
Welcoming Arrival: The Learning Hub
One of the most exciting features of the new building is the Learning Hub — a vibrant and engaging entry experience that sets the tone for the rest of the collaborative. Designed to be an architectural focal point, the hub uses bold, lively colors that not only create a sense of joy and welcome but also serve as a wayfinding strategy, subtly guiding children and caregivers to the age-group areas throughout the center. The use of simple geometries in this space reflects the sweeping lines and forms of the Colorado landscape, connecting the built environment to the region’s natural beauty.

Situated above the Learning Hub is a break room with a unique vantage point — overlooking this central gathering space — offering staff and visitors a connection with the heart of the building. This design choice reinforces the collaborative nature of the facility while enhancing sightlines and relationships between different parts of the center.

The movement room will feature an engaging climbing wall designed to support a wide range of gross and fine motor development, helping students build strength, balance, coordination, and spatial awareness. With varied holds and routes, the wall encourages problem-solving, confidence, and body control, allowing children to challenge themselves at their own pace while supporting multiple styles of motor growth.

Exterior Design That Speaks to Place
Thoughtful stucco reveals and carefully selected materials create visual interest and texture, echoing the rugged mountain landscapes that define Colorado. These reveals are more than decorative — they engage children’s curiosity and create an inviting presence for families and the community. EVstudio

Progress & Partnership
Thanks to the collaborative CM/GC delivery model with GTC, construction has advanced steadily, culminating in the recent completion of the building’s vertical structure and ongoing interior finishes that will soon welcome learners and families. This approach has allowed the team to adapt to design evolutions and maintain momentum toward the project’s anticipated opening. EVstudio
As the TLC Early Learning Collaborative moves into its final construction phases, it’s inspiring to watch how thoughtful design and community partnership are coming together to create a nurturing, inclusive space where children can learn, grow, and thrive. From the welcoming classrooms to the expressive exterior design, this project reflects a meaningful vision for early education in our region.
