EVstudio Connects With Colorado’s Multifamily Industry at Two CREJ Conferences
Last week, EVstudio joined developers, builders, housing leaders, and other industry professionals for two Colorado Real Estate Journal conferences in Denver.
Our team attended the Fall Multifamily Development & Investment Conference & Expo on August 25 and the Multifamily Attainable Housing Conference & Expo on August 26. Both events brought industry professionals together at The Cable Center to discuss Colorado’s evolving multifamily housing market.
Representing EVstudio were Gwyn Johnston, R.A., NCARB; Mike Nickel, Multifamily Studio Director; and Dean Dalvit, Founder, Principal, Architect & Engineer.
Connecting With Colorado’s Multifamily Community
For the EVstudio team, the conferences provided an opportunity to hear different perspectives while strengthening relationships across the industry.
“We were able to connect with a lot of great developers, contractors, potential clients and city officials,” Gwyn said.
Those conversations are especially valuable as multifamily projects face changing market conditions, development challenges, and increasing pressure to deliver attainable housing.
Bringing Offsite Construction Experience to the Conversation
A highlight of the Multifamily Attainable Housing Conference was the closing Modular Construction panel. Dean joined fellow industry experts Adam Berger, founder of Adam Berger Development; Megan Yonke, Deputy Director of DOLA’s Division of Housing; Jeffrey B. Hundley, P.E., President of Infinity Structures; and T. Jay Gilpatrick, Project Principal at The Symmetry Companies. Ted Leighty, Executive Vice President and CEO of the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver, moderated the discussion.
The panel explored modular and offsite construction and their role within today’s housing industry.
Dean helped provide guidance on what modular construction actually involves. He also emphasized the importance of assembling an experienced team early in a modular project.
Unlike conventional construction, modular projects require teams to consider manufacturing, transportation, site work, design, engineering, and field coordination together. Therefore, early collaboration can play an important role in successful project delivery.
“It was a great conference with a lot of really good connections,” Dean said.
