EVstudio Designing a Replacement for a Fire Damaged Home

We picked up a new project today for a client who owns a property in Conifer that caught on fire a few months ago. We are going to be able to reuse a number of the building elements including the foundation walls and a couple of the walls that were not damaged. The interesting thing in fire damaged property is how much of the damage to the house actually happens from the fire fighters and the weather that the house is now open to rather than just the fire itself.

Something else intersting was the portion of the house that was supported by heavy timber 6×6 columns and 6×12 beams. Heavy timber can really take a lot of fire damage before collapse and that’s why it has its own construction type in the code.
