Stacking Logs on a Log Home in Beulah

We have had the pleasure of working with David and Marin Lieb, who are building their dream log home in Beulah Colorado. The home was designed using the Honka MLL 204 logs supplied by Atrium Log Homes.

Despite the rainy Spring, they are currently stacking the logs and making good progress. As David describes, “We have been working at getting the log package up between all the rain drops and man have there been a lot of rain drops!! In the first three weeks we had the logs we were able to work a total of about six days but as of this past Friday we were on course 12 of the wall logs and it looks great!!”

Getting help with the log stacking is a key to success on a project of this size. We have seen contractors erect small cranes on site to handle the heavy lifting involved, and in the Lieb’s case, they opted to use lifting equipment as shown here. The space available on the site certainly helps to get around and being able to move such large pieces saves everyone’s back!

Finally, a sunny day!!

David (pictured at left) is already anticipating the schedule if the nice weather holds out. “I think by Tuesday or Wednesday we’ll be starting the upper level floor deck and the block Piers for the outside decks.”, David optimistically projects.  For his sake, we certainly hope it stays dry!
