Midwest Modular Multifamily 2026: EVstudio in Indianapolis

Last week, Rob Wilberger and Roxanne Jacobson traveled to Indianapolis for Midwest Modular Multifamily 2026. Restore Hope Indiana hosted the conference on Thursday, October 29. It brought together developers, lenders, government leaders, and modular partners. The goal was to explore how modular multifamily construction can speed up development and reduce costs.

Rob Joins the Panel on Choosing Modular Construction

At 9:15 AM, Rob, EVolution (Offsite) Studio Director at EVstudio, took the stage for “Choosing Modular Construction: Design, Challenges & Replication.” The panel paired a modular architect with two developers who chose modular for their own projects.

Together, the panelists shared their successes and challenges. They also covered what it takes to replicate a modular project.

A Full Morning of Modular Multifamily Insight

The panel was one part of a packed agenda. For example, Volumod CEO Ethan Fernhaber opened with a keynote on how he started a housing movement in Indiana. Later, the Modular Building Institute’s Government Affairs team, Alex Carmack and Andrew Muchnick, discussed policy trends facing the modular housing industry.

State and Indianapolis city leaders also spoke about the future of affordable housing. In addition, a panel of modular factory leaders explained why they chose to run manufacturing facilities. The morning closed with pitches on AI and construction innovation.

Touring the Volumod Factory

The conference took place at The Caring Place Church, directly across the street from the Volumod factory. As a result, the day ended with a short walk to lunch and a factory tour. Attendees watched multifamily units move down the line and saw the speed of modular construction firsthand.

EVstudio has partnered with Volumod on several projects, and we hope to work together on more soon.

Designing for Modular

Modular construction only works when the design and the factory work as one. That’s why events like this matter. They put architects, developers, manufacturers, and policymakers in the same room to solve problems together.
