Lavender Heights Poolhouse: A Community Amenity Designed for Connection
Project Overview
EVstudio partnered with WestPark Company, Inc. to design-build the Lavender Heights Poolhouse in Meridian, Idaho. This community amenity supports residents of the Lavender Heights neighborhood. It creates a welcoming, functional, and durable poolside destination.
The poolhouse serves as more than a support structure. It anchors the outdoor experience for residents and guests. The design balances aesthetics, efficiency, and long-term performance.
A Community-Centered Amenity Building
The Lavender Heights Poolhouse supports a large swimming pool and expansive pool deck. It includes public restrooms, pool equipment rooms, and secure storage areas. These spaces ensure smooth daily operations throughout the swimming season. Moreover, the building improves safety and convenience for residents. Clear circulation paths help users move easily between spaces. Support areas remain discreet and visually integrated into the structure.
As a result, the poolhouse enhances the overall neighborhood experience. It encourages gathering, recreation, and shared community moments.
Welcoming Architecture and Site Placement
An arched entry defines the primary entrance into the pool area. This architectural feature creates a strong sense of arrival. It also provides visual interest from multiple viewpoints.
The building uses a long, narrow footprint along the pool’s east edge. This layout maximizes usable deck space and pool access. It also maintains clear sightlines across the site.
Additionally, the footprint improves circulation and accessibility. Residents can move efficiently between the pool, deck, and amenities. The design supports high traffic during peak summer hours.
Exterior Materials That Reflect Community Character
The exterior materials echo the established style of Lavender Heights. Natural tones and layered textures create a warm, residential appearance. These choices help the building blend seamlessly into its surroundings.
Finishes include stone veneer for durability and visual depth. Light brown fiber cement shingles add texture and weather resistance. Dark brown board-and-batten siding introduces vertical emphasis and contrast.
White horizontal lap siding completes the palette with a clean finish. Together, these materials create a balanced and cohesive exterior. They also provide long-term performance in Idaho’s climate.
Structural System and Construction Type
The Lavender Heights Poolhouse uses Type V-B wood-frame construction. This system allows flexibility, efficiency, and cost control. It also supports the project’s schedule and budget goals.
Type V-B construction works well for low-rise community buildings. It uses combustible materials within code-defined limits. This approach suits amenity structures like poolhouses.
Wood framing also supports design adaptability. It allows coordination between architectural and structural systems. As a result, the building maintains efficiency without sacrificing quality.
Design-Build Collaboration and Project Delivery
The design-build approach supported seamless collaboration from concept to completion. EVstudio worked closely with WestPark Company, Inc throughout the process. This partnership encouraged alignment across design, construction, and operations.
Early coordination helped resolve site constraints efficiently. It also allowed faster decision-making during detailing and material selection. The process reduced risk and improved overall project outcomes.
Enhancing Everyday Life at Lavender Heights
The Lavender Heights Poolhouse strengthens the identity of the community. It provides a functional, attractive space for recreation and connection. Residents benefit from thoughtful planning and durable construction.
Ultimately, the project reflects EVstudio’s commitment to community-focused design. It blends architecture, structure, and site planning into a cohesive solution. The poolhouse stands as a lasting amenity for Lavender Heights residents.
