Jim has extensive professional experience in structural engineering design ranging from post-tensioned slab design to wood structures for multi-family housing to commercial projects which employ concrete, steel and CMU block.

Jim started out in the industry by working in the field while attending college by inspecting soil and asphalt compaction, rebar placement, and concrete testing. Upon graduation, Jim worked in design and then quickly rose through the ranks into project management. With many projects successfully completed, Jim now oversees all operations of the structural department.

In recent years, Jim has designed post-tensioned foundations, residential multi-family and single-family homes, commercial buildings, retaining walls and projects for the Army Corps of Engineers.  In 2017, Jim was promoted to Principal within EVstudio. While he continues to act as Director of Structural Engineering, he now lends his leadership skills to EVstudio’s executive branch. The wide range of projects makes him a well-rounded engineer experienced in all types of construction. Jim spends his time off work with his wife, Kate, and their children.
